Care that reaches the whole province
NIPHA staff serve communities the length of New Ireland — more than 300 kilometres of coastline, plus the outer islands. Under the One Health System, hospital care and public health work are planned together across four directorates, so a job here is rarely confined to one building.
Work that is visible
In a province this size, the effect of good work shows quickly. A midwife, a laboratory officer or an outreach driver can see the difference their week made to families in Kavieng, Namatanai or an island village.
Breadth of practice
Roles span the four directorates — Curative Health, Public Health, Corporate and Executive Services. Clinical staff meet a wide case mix; support and administrative staff keep supplies, payroll and facilities running behind it all.
Part of a reform
Since the 2016–17 merger the Authority has been rebuilding how care is delivered here. People who join now help shape services rather than simply inherit them, working alongside national and international partners.
